UPCYCLED AND REMIXED TSHIRTS

Life With JP: From Beat Digger to Wearable Art”

For over 20 years, Life With JP has been about chasing sound — raw, gritty, soulful sound. In the early days, it was all about beat-making. Long nights, dusty MPCs, and digging through crates just to find that one loop that made your soul bounce. About 10 years in, I discovered the magic of sampling vinyl. That changed everything.

Suddenly, thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales became my playgrounds. I’d spend hours flipping through records, headphones half-on, hoping to find that one gem — some forgotten groove that could be flipped into something fresh. I’d chop, flip, re-layer, and lace it with drums. Boom. New life from old sound.

As time went on, I started making it a family thing. We’d all hit the thrift shops together — part treasure hunt, part creative mission. I’d be digging for vinyl, and along the way I’d spot these retro tees. Stuff with wild graphics, old logos, faded colors. I’d buy them… but never wear them. They just felt like art.

Fast forward to now — something shifted. My wife "Faith" and I started experimenting with tie dye , bleach effects , stencils , heat pressing , screen printing. Suddenly, those old tees became blank canvases. We were bringing my art — my beats — to clothes. Every piece started to feel like a one-of-one, like sampling for the eyes instead of the ears.

The more I shared online, the more people asked: “Where can I get one?”

So I thought: why not share this art in a whole new way ?

That’s where we are today — still creating, still sampling, still flipping. But now it’s more than just beats. It’s about taking what was left behind and turning it into something fresh. Whether it’s a dusty soul sample or a forgotten tee, Life With JP is about giving it new life — and letting people wear the story.
